How I Write Reviews and Rate BL Webtoons
Here are a few notes to help you better understand the way I review webtoons and what my star ratings mean.
🧭 Reviews Focus on the Main Story
Most of my reviews—about 95%—are based on the main story.
If the side stories are significantly better or worse than the main story (by one ★ or more), I’ll mention it at the end of the review.
📚 No Reviews for Ongoing Main Stories
To give a complete and fair review, I only write about webtoons whose main story is already completed.
Even if the side story is still ongoing, I might still review the work—because side stories don’t affect the core plot.
🚫 No Reviews for BE (Bad Ending) Stories
I don’t read BE (Bad Ending) stories at all, so you won’t see them on this site.
If you’re looking for angst or tragic endings—sorry, this isn’t the place 😅
📝 Character Name Translations
If a webtoon doesn’t have an official English version yet, I’ll be translating the character names myself.
These may not match future official translations—thanks for your understanding!
⭐ What the Star Ratings Mean
The number of stars reflects how well the story meets my expectations, not necessarily how much I love it.
Different genres and setups come with different expectations. For example, if I’ve read the original novel and the webtoon adaptation falls flat, I’ll likely give it fewer stars—even if I like the characters.
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Loved it. Highly recommended—this one’s a must-read!
- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Still a great read. Even if not perfect, you won’t regret trying it.
- ⭐⭐⭐ — Has at least one strong point (art, plot, or characters). Might not be everyone’s taste, but worth checking out if you’re open-minded.
- ⭐⭐ — ⚠️ Caution: possible flop. I might upset some fans, but I’d rather help readers with similar taste avoid disappointment.
- ⭐ — You won’t see 1-star reviews here—because I probably dropped the story before finishing.
